Kendrick Lamar and Nike’s rumored shoe collaboration finally, after rumors and hype, has a drop date: January 28, the same day as the Grammy’s.
Kendrick is nominated for seven Grammy awards, including album of the year, record of the year, best rap album, best rap song, best rap performance, best music video, and best rap/sung collaboration.
The shoe comes just months after Lamar announced his partnership with Nike in August. Lamar posted a teaser of the ‘Cortez Kenny’ shoe on his Instagram on December 18.
This custom Cortez, which is getting far more hype than his Reebok collaboration back in 2014, includes iconic red and white detailing, a DAMN. tongue label, Chinese script on the toe, and a custom lace holder reading ‘DON’T TRIP.’ The ‘Cortez Kenny’ will be available for purchase for $100 on the Swoosh’s SNKRS app.
