Gabrielle Union Opens Up About Infertility

Gabrielle Union dives deep into her life off screen like never before. 

Gabrielle Union has come a long way since the girl we first saw on Bring It On. At 44, the Being Mary Jane actress is set to release her memoir titled We’re Going to Need More Wine. Union reveals she has suffered multiple miscarriages.

People reports an exclusive excerpt of her book  “I have had eight or nine miscarriages,” Union, explains in her book. “For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”

Union married NBA player Dwayne Wade in 2014. After never desiring to have children, Union realized the joy she felt from being a stepmother to Wade’s three boys and nephew.

“I never wanted kids,” Union told People “Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I’d rather be than with them.”

In light of her situation, Union reveals the couple “remain bursting with love and ready to do anything to meet the child we’ve both dreamed of.”

We’re Going to Need More Wine is set to hit the shelves Oct. 17.
