Growing up in the late 90s, early 2000s, the all-white, ever so crisp, Nike Air Force 1s were the pair of sneakers to cop. Rappers and fans alike, all crazed after the sneaker.

Roc-A-Fella records owners at the time, which comprised of Jay-Z, Dame Dash, and Biggs were notoriously known for wearing a pair once then donating them and purchasing a fresh new pair. With the rise and obvious dominance of the music giant, in 2000 Nike decided to honor the label by creating a design with the Roc logo embroided on the heel of the sneaker while the logo resurfaces again on the tongue. As this is a retro, I’m sure there will be limited pairs made.

Now as a person who has a love and passion for sneakers and fashion, I will be on the lookout for this release. Especially after Jay- z released his 13th studio album 4:44 earlier this summer, I’m sure Jay-z fans are on the prowl; plus how could you go wrong with a pair of uptowns? Since the creation of the label in 1995 for the purpose of releasing Reasonable Doubt, the label has expanded beyond its limits. Thirteen years later, during ComplexCon in Long Beach November 4th – 5th to celebrate the 35th anniversary of AF1, the Roc-A-Fella x Nike Air Force 1 2017 retro has been confirmed. Are you getting a pair?
