When you hear “Wooo!” one might think of excitement, if in Brooklyn you might think of Canarsie, but if you’re a wrestling fan, you automatically think Ric Flair. Some sad news has come to my attention that the legend is in ICU. With over 50 years of wrestling experience to his name Ric Flair has brought to the world of wrestling joy, excitement, heartbreaks, and now worried headaches.
Early reports state that the living legend was in a medically induced coma over the weekend. His representatives say that he’s undergone surgery today. The ‘Nature Boy’ as they call him has received continous support from staff and other colleagues in the wrestling realm via twitter. Among those showing their support are veterans Mick Foley, John Cena, and Eric Bischoff.
I for one grew up watching wrestling. At my age I’ve long since fallen out of the loop, but I will always remember play fighting with friends performing the figure-four lock and screaming “Wooo!” as I stood proudly. It felt free. It was happy. Although those close to the family may not be comfortable with the status of Ric Flair’s health we must take on his unyielding spirit and hope for the best.
