Dwayne Johnson, former WWE Champ, who is also known as The Rock might be running for President in the year 2020.
When asked during an interview with GQ in May, “Would you ever consider running for President?” Johnson responded “Yeah, of course, I would consider it.” This definitely wouldn’t be the first time a big star has gotten involved in Politics. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is known for playing James Cameron in The Terminator, served two terms as Governor of California from 2003-2011.
Johnson told GQ he feels that a President should be poise. “Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. If I didn’t agree with someone on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them.” He basically described the true meaning of Democracy, which most Presidents preach, but do not necessarily practice.
Along with Johnson’s thoughts on Presidential leadership he also said he disagrees with the muslim ban. “I believe in our national security to the core, but I don’t believe in a ‘ban’ that bans immigrants. I believe in inclusion. Our country was built on that, and it continues to be made strong by that.”
Johnson even appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and talked about a national poll that has come out saying that he would beat Donald Trump if there were in an election today. Watch the Interview below:
Vanity Fair reported that according to the Federal Election Commision (FEC‘s) records a campaign called “Run the Rock 2020” has been filed on Johnson’s behalf by Kenton Tilford, who has no connection to Johnson.
Even if the idea of The Rock becoming President may be hypothetical, he seems very enthusiastic about it and he already has many supporters that are ready to go to their nearest polling station.
