It can be said confidently that Spider-Man has returned to glory! In its first week at the box office, the Sony motion picture grossed a total of $117M. I’m sure the executives over at Sony are more than pleased with the reception of the latest film. I, too, have contributed to that number over the weekend. The movie was phenomenal from start to finish.
Sony’s goal was to create a family-friendly movie. Typical of a superhero movie, there was action, and of course a love plot but, to my surprise, it was packed with humor more than anything. I think it could be classified as a comedy. As a 25-year-old, I didn’t expect to be going to see another Spider-Man movie but it was definitely worth the watch. According to Box Office Mojo, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” beat out the first “Spider-Man” that was released in 2002 by about $3 million. Spider-Man 3 comes in first with $151M in its first week. Regardless of which movie did the best, the Spider-Man franchise is back in full effect!
