Baton Rouge Officer Sues Black Lives Matter Movement

On Friday, a lawsuit was filed in Louisiana by an unidentified police officer who claims to have suffered from the 2016 attack in Baton Rouge where three (3) officers died while others were wounded. Allegedly, the Black Lives Matter movement and its leaders failed to denounce the violence and are the cause of the chaos. The complaint which was filed stated that the Black Lives Matter movement and its leaders “incited the violence against police in retaliation for the death of black men shot by police”.

One of the main defendants and face of the Black Lives Matter movement, DeRay Mckesson, is being accused of organizing and supporting violence against the local law enforcement. The officer is seeking about $75,000 in compensation for his injuries. It is unfair to blame the movement for the actions of a few individuals. Yes, there are senseless people in this world. Which is the exact reason why we have local police departments. “To protect and to serve” was the motto adopted by the police after being coined by the LAPD. Safety and security for the most part is the sole job. If officers lived by the oath they swore to, the hatred and mistrust the people have for law enforcement would not exist; unless the department was structured to protect and serve a select few.
