Warriors Return the Gold to Golden State!

Golden State wins the gold! In 2016, the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers allowing Lebron to bring his city it’s first championship. The Warriors were distraught, especially after winning the finals in 2015 and breaking the Bulls regular season record with 73 wins and just 9 losses. Desperate to get better and get back to the finals, the team acquired Kevin Durant.

The former Texas Longhorn was under much scrutiny for the decision to join the team that beat him in the previous year. Despite the naysayers, KD and the rest of the Warriors set their eyes on one thing: gold. Throughout the finals, Kevin Durant averaged over 30pts in each game making him only the sixth player in history to do so. Accomplishing this landed him amongst Elgin Baylor, Rick Barry, Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaq. KD is a bonafide scorer and this is the reason why they went out and got him. Although well built prior to KD’s arrival, the Golden State Warriors now have the perfect team. To some extent, GSW reminds me of the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons. Regardless of what I think, they just might have created a dynasty. We’ll see what the future of the league holds for its fans; but for now, congratulations to the Golden State Warriors and the coaching staff!
